Randy Dorn ,
Superintendent of Public Instruction

Randy Dorn joined the Board in January 2009.
Before his election as Washington's Superintendent of Public Instruction, Mr. Dorn was employed as the Executive Director of the Public School Employees of Washington.
He arrived in this position after seven years in the State House of Representatives, where he served as the Chairman of the House Education Committee.
Prior to his executive and legislative experience, Superintendent Dorn worked as an elementary and middle school teacher, and he devoted ten years as an elementary and high school administrator.
Superintendent Dorn recieved an M.A. in education from Pacific Lutheran University (1980) and a B.A. in education from the University of Idaho (1975). He and his wife Kate are the proud parents of three grown sons, two of whom are currently educators.
