What are EALRs and GLEs?

EALR = Essential Academic Learning Requirements
GLE = Grade Level Expectations

These are terms educators use to describe what students must know and be able to do in each grade (K-10) according to the requirements for all schools under state law. GLEs describe the EALRs in more detail and serve as the basis for what will be tested on the WASL.

What is the Office Superintendent of Public Instruction?

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction or OSPI is the Washington State Department of Education. The State Superintendent is Dr. Terry Bergeson, she is elected statewide like the Governor.

What is Student 2 Student?

Student 2 Student (S2S) is a student-driven project to help entering high school students understand what they need to do to graduate and help them make the most of their high school years. S2S helps students make school relevant to their life outside the classroom and beyond graduation.
