Mrs. Lamb actively supports many community and state programs as a volunteer and contributor. She has served as ad hoc citizen chair/adviser to local school directors' curriculum, planning and facilities studies, member of local levy and bond committees, former leader of local parent and school groups, classroom volunteer/trainer and a Parent-Student-Teacher education advocate. She has served as a board member of the Washington Association of Arts Education, Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction's Arts Advisory Council and a state arts education task force.
She organized vision and hearing screening of preschoolers in Thurston County, served on the Olympia City Council Policing Advisory Committee, co-founded a local nonprofit organization, facilitated long-range planning for groups, was awarded WAEA Arts Advocate of the Year (2002), and named 2000 Education Advocate of the Year, in Olympia.
Mrs. Lamb holds a B.A. in political science from University of Puget Sound and a K-12 permanent teaching certificate from the University of Washington. She was a classroom and substitute teacher. She has traveled around the world, lived in Malaysia and is aware of education systems in many countries. She believes all children should have access to a well-rounded, quality education in all subject matters and a safe school environment, based on mutual respect for all. Mrs. Lamb served as chair of the Remote & Necessary Committee and was a member of the Professional Development & Certification and Rules Committees. In addition, she has been the liaison to the Washington Association of School Administrators and the Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board.
