TUMWATER, Wash. – The Washington State Board of Education’s January 11-12 meeting at the Educational Service District 113 in Tumwater will include an overview of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) waiver requirements for states seeking exemption.

Representatives from the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction will brief the Board on NCLB waiver considerations, timelines, and requirements on the morning of January 11.

At 12:00 p.m. on January 11, Representative Ross Hunter will discuss his proposal to revise school district funding sources, expanding statewide property tax collections with corresponding reductions in local levies.

At 1:45, the Board will host a discussion on education system governance with Dr. Aims McGuinnes Jr. of the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems.

The Board meeting will begin Wednesday, January 11, at 8:30 a.m. TVW will not be televising this event.
